The procedure

Refining Proportion, Preserving Balance

Rhinoplasty reshapes the bone, cartilage and skin of the nose to refine its proportions while keeping natural balance with the face. It can also correct breathing problems such as a deviated septum, addressing both the appearance and the function of the nose in the same procedure.

Dr. Leandro Junqueira plans every rhinoplasty around your existing facial features rather than a fixed idea of an ideal nose. The goal is a shape that looks like it belongs to your face, and, when relevant, an airway that lets you breathe more comfortably.

Why patients choose it

01

Refined Proportions

Adjusting the bridge, tip or nostrils to bring the nose into better balance with the rest of the face.

02

Improved Breathing

A deviated septum or internal narrowing can be corrected alongside the aesthetic changes.

03

Corrected Asymmetry

Irregularities from previous injury or natural development can be addressed.

04

Natural-Looking Results

Changes are planned in proportion to your face, avoiding an overly operated appearance.

05

Discreet or Hidden Incisions

Depending on the technique used, incisions are minimal and well concealed.

06

Long-Term Confidence

Many patients feel more at ease with their profile in photographs and everyday life.

Your journey

From consultation to result

  1. 01

    Consultation

An evaluation of your nasal structure, breathing and the changes you would like to see.

  2. 02

    Planning

Discussing the technique, extent of reshaping and any functional correction required.

  3. 03

    Surgery

A meticulous procedure performed under general anaesthesia in an accredited facility.

  4. 04

    Recovery

A splint protects the new shape as swelling resolves and the final contour gradually reveals itself.

Techniques and Options

The right approach depends on your anatomy, whether breathing needs to be corrected, and the extent of reshaping required.

Open vs. Closed Rhinoplasty

An open approach uses a small incision at the base of the nose for greater visibility in complex cases, while a closed approach keeps all incisions inside the nostrils.

Functional Septoplasty

When breathing is affected, correcting a deviated septum can be performed together with the aesthetic reshaping.

Tip Refinement

The nasal tip can be refined independently of the bridge when that is the primary concern.

Revision Rhinoplasty

For patients unhappy with a previous rhinoplasty, a revision procedure addresses the specific irregularities that remain.

Rhinoplasty FAQ

Yes, when needed. If a deviated septum or internal narrowing is contributing to breathing difficulty, this can be corrected in the same surgery as the aesthetic reshaping, an approach known as septorhinoplasty.

A closed rhinoplasty keeps all incisions hidden inside the nostrils, while an open rhinoplasty adds a small incision at the base of the nose for greater visibility during more complex reshaping. Dr. Leandro Junqueira recommends the approach best suited to your case.

Initial swelling resolves over the first few weeks, but the nose continues to refine gradually, with the final shape typically visible after several months to a year, particularly at the tip.

That is the intention. Rhinoplasty is planned around your existing facial proportions so the result looks like a refined version of your own nose rather than a different one.

A revision rhinoplasty can address specific concerns remaining from a prior surgery. These cases require careful evaluation of the existing structure and are discussed in detail during consultation.
